ACC TN Q1 Newsletter | February 2025 Message from the President This new year has launched with an incredibly rapid pace of change in the legal and business environment in the United States and across the world. Each day brings a new issue, a new challenge, and new questions about how something may or may not impact you, your business, your legal department or your industry. In the face of this accelerated pace, ACC Tennessee and ACC Global remain committed to helping you navigate the evolving landscape. As an ACC Member, you have access to ACC Communities, an online platform that allows in-house attorneys to connect on important issues in real time. You also have access to ACC Docket, with its timely, in-depth articles on the important issues impacting in house attorneys today. The Education team at ACC Global offers an incredible array of on demand programs, easily searchable in the course catalog. Here at ACC Tennessee, we are working to provide responsive and insightful programming, such as our recently launched Timely Topics series. Our first webinar on Federal Contractors was well attended, and we look forward to offering this programming on additional upcoming topics, such as immigration. April Berman ACC Tennessee, Board President Message from the Executive Director  In 2025, ACC Tennessee is focused on connecting our members across shared practice areas, shared geography, and share industries. As one of our first initiatives, we are looking to identify our members and prospects who are Remote & In-House. This group includes anyone who works fully or partly out-of-office, for a company based in Tennessee or outside Tennessee. If you spend one or more of your days of the week from your home office for your in house job, you are welcome in our Remote & In-House group. We want to hear from this group on how we can serve your interests and how your needs may vary from those working in office in 2025. The best way for ACC Tennessee to identify and connect in-house attorneys working remotely in Tennessee is through self identification--so stand up (using the e-mail link below) and let us know if you are a remote working in-house attorney interested in connecting through ACC Tennesse with other remote in-house counsel. I’ve been in-house since 2006, when I joined JTV in Knoxville.  JTV is a home shopping network that focuses on the sale of jewelry and gemstones with a broadcast footprint reaching 60 million homes in the U.S.   I was the General Counsel there until September of 2024, when I accepted the General Counsel position at Red Stag Fulfillment, a logistics company headquartered in Knoxville.   How long have you been a member of ACC? I joined in around 2009.  I was active in the Law Department Management Network for several years, serving as the Chair in 2017-18.  We were fortunate enough to be selected as the Large Network of the Year. Tell us about a recent trip you've taken. Last summer, we were in Hungary and Croatia.  My wife is Hungarian, and we go back every summer, spending time in Budapest and her hometown, Szeged. The Croatian leg of the trip took us to the island of Krk, off of Croatia’s northern coast.  Krk has a beautiful rocky coast, with great snorkeling and several charming towns that were founded in the 1300s. Thank you to our members statewide who joined us for the terrific events and programming we hosted in 2024. We are excited for all of the great events and programming that we have planned for 2025.
