Fall 2020 Michigan Department of Education Continuous Improvement Conference

The Michigan Department of Education (MDE) will host the Fall 2020 Continuous Improvement Conference at the Lansing Center on October 19-20. Keynote speaker Dr. Seena Skelton, Director of the Great Lakes Equity Center, will address the conference theme, “Equity for Continuous Improvement: Opportunities, Environments, and Supports.” Dr. Skelton has more than 15 years of experience working in the areas of systems change, school improvement, and educational equity, including with the Michigan Department of Education.

Attendees will have an opportunity to participate in a variety of breakout sessions on the integration of equity and continuous improvement. The conference will also include a demonstration of the Michigan Integrated Continuous Improvement Platform. For more information on the conference, visit this website.

ASSIST Reporting Update

School and district reporting tasks are now assigned in ASSIST™. Heads of Institutions received a memorandum from the MDE outlining the reporting expectations and requirements for the 2020-2021 school year.
