To date, ACC Tennessee and its sponsors have hosted 7 CLEs and 6 Socials and participated in 3 Community Events. What is most exciting about this level of activity in our Chapter is that it is occurring statewide -- from Kingsport to Memphis -- and we are seeing participation from a diverse group of members. Thank you to our Sponsors and to our ACC Tennessee team for creating opportunities for education and connection across our membership. The importance of building and fostering professional relationships has been a continuing theme for ACC Tennessee this year. Each event that I attend, I make connections with new members, deepen my connections with existing members, and have the opportunity to learn about the bench strength of our Sponsor firms. These relationships built through ACC Tennessee helps our members with selecting outside counsel, recruiting additional in-house talent, and establishing a trusted bank of external colleagues to bounce ideas off of or get referrals. Thank you to each of you for continuing to invest in ACC Tennessee. Message from the Executive Director Happy July, y'all! These first six months of the year have flown by. Its incredible to think that I am approaching my one year mark in September as Executive Director of ACC Tennessee. I continue to be grateful for the warm welcome and support I receive from our members and our generous Sponsors. Before this role, I did not have a good understanding of the relationship between ACC Global and ACC Tennessee. I have learned so much over the last 9 months. ACC Global has so much to offer our leadership team and our members -- the resources on their webpage alone are worth every penny of your membership fee. How long have you been in-house? 15+ years How long have you been a member of ACC? 15+ years Tell us about a recent trip you've taken. Most recently we toured some of the Bourbon trail in Kentucky, but if you are looking for something a little further away, we spent fall break in London and Norway.  We were aiming to see the Northern Lights but they did not show up for us.  It was still a beautiful trip, and we will simply have to go back.  We love to travel and are heading to France, Spain, Croatia and Italy this summer –our biggest family trip yet! The annual report analyzes pro bono participation of CPBO Challenge signatories. The CPBO Challenge initative is a voluntary committment by legal department leaders to an aspirational goal that 50 percent of legal department employees, including attorneys and staff, will participate in pro bono annually. This year, the data shows that pro bono participation by in-house legal departments remains steady. You can access the full report here. Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging Upcoming Launch of 1L Clerkship Program Earlier this year, ACC Tennessee submitted a grant proposal to the ACC Foundation's Jumpstart Fund in connection with launching a platform for our sponsor firms to pair with in-house legal departments throughout the State to offer 1L clerkships designed to attract law students with a passion for DEIB principles to Tennessee. In May, ACC Tennessee was notified that our grant was awarded for the full amount requested. Our DEIB Committee is now embarking on the work of making this program a reality, with an anticipated launch date of January 2024 and a first class of clerkships in Summer 2024.
