Each year on 22 April we mark Earth Day to demonstrate support and sustain awareness about the causal link between environmental protection and the survival of our species and others on this planet. Climate change is a global issue and it is very encouraging to see more and more businesses taking action to mitigate its effects.

Building sustainable workplaces is key to the success of every business and every employee. There is still much work to be done by Boards of Directors, senior leadership teams, HR professionals, people managers and by all team members. Positive workplace culture is the exception instead of the norm in so many economies. This aspect of sustainability does not get nearly enough attention and, yet, it is the answer to retaining talent and building engaged teams for sustained, commercial success.
