   Valley Ventures Success  
  The Fall 2019 cohort is in full swing! A number of budding ventures from all around California have convened for our Valley Ventures Accelerator Program. Valley Ventures was created to propel agriculture, water, and energy startups to greater success. Valley Ventures sees innovations as indispensable assets to the Central Valley. Each company is taught the best strategies for turning profits and raising capital. Members of the cohort interact with one another to strengthen their communication techniques as well as make valuable network connections. Aquacycl raises $4M
Aquacycl, a wastewater company has just raised $4M in funding. Aquacycl plans on using the funds to expand its marketing team and improve production efficiency. 

Granlikbakken Tahoe 
The Sierra Green Business network has launched a new resort in the Truckee-Tahoe region, Granlibakken Tahoe! The resort is available for events, getaways and company retreats.

Dairies are halfway to sustainability
California is implementing more sustainable technology in its dairies. The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) has allotted over $100 million for sustainability measures to be taken.
 Egeria wins big
Egeria, a startup company that
offers a platform for streaming
news about government business has just won the StartupSac
Warm-Up Pitch competition.

Alternative Funding
Thanks to the CDFI Fund, a program
that aims to provide funding to less fortunate communities, small businesses don’t have to turn to
high-interest bank loans to raise capital.

  Azadi is a Valley Ventures alumni dedicated to developing technology that combats climate change. Since joining Valley Ventures, Azadi has raised $200,000 and more than doubled its employee count. Dennis Pittman of Azadi spoke to BlueTechValley, saying that attending industry seminars was incredibly helpful. “We have learned about resources to propel our business forward, and conceived new ideas through various interactions with other startups.” You can learn more about WET membership here!

Meet Alexis Ford, the Marketing Coordinator at the Water, Energy, and Technology Center! She received her Bachelor's in Agricultural Communications from Fresno State in May of this year. When she isn't working, you can find her practicing her photography skills, hiking, or gardening!
