Beachcare event engaged coastal community

On Friday 17 August, 22 GBS student leaders participated in a ‘Beachcare’ event at the Southport Spit (The Spit). ‘Beachcare' is a coastal community engagement initiative that is facilitated by the Griffith Centre for Coastal Management, in partnership with the City of Gold Coast.

Our leaders spent the morning collecting rubbish, as well as re-planting and weeding an area of The Spit. These plants are essential for a healthy wetland and beach environment and all the students thoroughly enjoyed participating in the day.
