Why the COVID-19 Pandemic Didn’t Stop Georgia’s Essential Early Intervention Services
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Georgia Department of Public Health Babies Can’t Wait program was piloting teleintervention services in Waycross, Valdosta, Dublin and Gainesville. Since then, BCW has successfully expanded teleintervention capability to all
18 public health districts across the state. Families now have the option to receive teleintervention
services such as physical, occupational and speech therapy as well as special instruction and service
coordination for their children.

Georgia Community Foundation Rural Health Fund Donates $50,000 to
Support GAFP’s Grants
This will allow over $100,000 in support to be given out to
communities all over the state to keep Georgians healthy. This is another
confirmation that other philanthropic groups know that our members know who in
their community needs support.
