Last Chance to Register for Revolutionizing Healthcare: Communicating Value and Improved Outcomes

Join the Northern Virginia Chamber and Health TechNet this Friday for a discussion about how healthcare systems are working to advance their business through tech solutions. How are healthcare systems working to advance their business models/core mission through tech solutions? Vendors and providers will come together to discuss new and innovative technology applications and how those applications can support improvements in quality, safety and economic performance. Panelists will provide insight into how buyers evaluate technologies and applications, as well as how applications continue to change the way they do business. Applications Open for the 2018 Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Awards

Long considered one of the must-attend events for businesses in the Washington region, the Northern Virginia Chamber’s Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Awards honor individuals, businesses and non-profits for above-and-beyond business leadership, employee engagement, and corporate social responsibility. Presented by the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce, The Hospitality Awards celebrates the area’s favorite restaurants, hotels and venues nominated and voted on by members of the business community. These establishments are known for their enjoyable atmospheres, quality service, exceptional experiences, and tasty bites – embodying hospitality and excellence. Mix and mingle, meet and eat with members of the hospitality industry and business community for an evening of friendly networking as restaurants serve bite size samples of some of their best dishes at the awards on Thursday, June 7 from 5:30 - 7:30 PM at the Silverline Center Atrium. 2018 GovCon Symposium Announced! A New Wave: Industry Consolidation in the GovCon Market
Join the Northern Virginia Chamber for the annual GovCon Symposium, which will focus on a new wave of industry consolidation in the GovCon market caused by the Federal Government buying habits, trends in technology, and overcapacity in the GovCon Market on Wednesday, April 18 from 7:30 - 11:00 AM at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner. 2018 Virginia General Assembly Update
The Virginia General Assembly adjourned sine die on Saturday, March 10th, concluding a 60 day session dominated by a number of high profile issues as well as a budget impasse that will send the General Assembly into Special Session in April. The Northern Virginia Chamber had a successful session, particularly as it relates to the Chamber’s top legislative priority – securing a $154 million dedicated funding source for Metro for the first time in the system’s forty year history. George Mason University and Fairfax Commission on the Arts invite you to attend a lecture by Professor Jim Kinter, Director of George Mason Univeristy’s Center for Ocean-Land-Atmosphere Studies (COLA). Easter Seals Elects New Board Members
Easter Seals announced that Scott Meza, head of the Northern Virginia Corporate and Securities Group at the law firm of Greenberg Traurig, LLP, and Joe Sifer, Executive Vice President at Booz Allen Hamilton, have been elected to its Board of Directors. Scott Meza has more than 25 years of experience assisting businesses in complex transactions. Joe Sifer has more than 30 years of experience in engineering, technology, and consulting services. He has been with Booz Allen Hamilton since 1996, where he is now an Executive Vice President. To read a full press release, click here.  

Trowbridge & Trowbridge to Modernize Army Cloud Solutions
Trowbridge & Trowbridge, LLC (T&T), has been awarded a position on the U.S. Army’s Cloud Computing Enterprise Transformation (ACCENT) Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA). This agreement is expected to become the Army’s preferred source for cloud and mobile solution acquisition, with a total estimated ceiling value of $247.7 million over three years. Thompson Greenspon Earns Inavero’s 2018 Best of Accounting™ Award for Client Service Excellence

Thompson Greenspon announced that they have won Inavero’s Best of Accounting™ Award for providing superior service for the second year in a row. Best of Accounting Award winners have proven themselves as industry leaders in service quality based entirely on ratings provided by their clients. On average, clients of 2018 Best of Accounting winners are 2x more likely to be satisfied than those who work with non-winning firms. Thompson Greenspon received satisfaction scores of 9 or 10 out of 10 from 83% of their clients, significantly higher than the industry’s average of 43% in 2018. Britepaths 4th Annual Artful Living: An Evening of Art, Wine and Strengthening Community
Britepaths is hosting its 4th annual Artful Living: An Evening of Art, Wine and Strengthening Community, on Saturday, April 21, from 7:00 – 10:00 PM at the Sherwood Center in Fairfax City in association with the Fairfax Spotlight on the Arts Festival. The evening will include a juried art show with works by local artists for sale, live music by local Latin-Jazz band, Batida Diferente, a live charity auction, appetizers, wine and beer tastings.
