Virginia Society of Healthcare Engineers QUARTERLY NEWSLETTER March 2020
Colleagues, I hope this note finds you, your family and your professional teammates well and healthy. Outside of the personal challenges that this period in our lives has brought upon us, many, if not all of you are heavily involved in the day to day evaluations and preparedness of our Commonwealth’s healthcare facilities and are responsible for addressing the immanent challenges that have been brought upon us. It is oftentimes a thankless job for many though it goes without saying that your efforts are invaluable to the success of the frontline healthcare workers performing direct patient care. Thank you for what you do and for the passion which you do it with. As many of you are aware, along with the nation and Virginia’s recommendations for social distancing to limit the spread of the virus, we have postponed our upcoming Annual Conference slated for April 20-23rd in Newport News, VA. We have also taken the steps to cancel indefinitely all district events. The Board of Directors is working with our conference partners to arrange for a rescheduling of the Annual Conference for later this year with dates in both August and early November up for consideration. We thank you for your patience while we evaluate our options. Information regarding the conference reschedule dates, elections as well as refunds will be available in the coming weeks. Stay Safe. Stay Healthy.
In light of the latest COVID-19 developments, VSHE’s Board of Directors has determined that the 2020 Annual Conference, scheduled for April 20-23rd in Newport News, VA will be POSTPONED until further notice. We recognize and greatly appreciate both the time and monetary commitments that have gone into the planning of our 11th Annual Conference and cannot thank our Healthcare and Associate Members and Sponsors enough for their support.
VSHE wants to extend our appreciation to our healthcare providers who are part of the front line response to the current events that are unfolding across Virginia as well as the United States. We can say with confidence that VSHE as well as ASHE are in the process of redirecting our resources to best serve our members and their communities. We are asking all members to unite in these efforts. We encourage everyone to strictly follow all precautionary measures. Stay educated and educate others. We recommend utilizing the CDC for information as opposed to other indirect media. We encourage you to donate blood if you are able and healthy.
