President's Message
Pictured: President Toya Harrell and 2nd Vice President Mark Eby at the League of Wisconsin Municipalities’ Fall Conference.
Hello WMCA Members,
Happy October!!
It was wonderful to see so many clerks attending the Wisconsin Elections Commission conference—I hope you found the sessions insightful and came away with useful takeaways.
During the conference, the United States Postal Service gave a helpful presentation. LaVerne Morgan-Hill, Manager of Customer Relations, shared her contact information, and for those who couldn’t attend or weren’t able to make note of it, I’m including her business card here for you. 😊
I can personally say that LaVerne has been an incredible resource during our election season.  When mail delivery of absentee ballots slows down or mail hasn’t been delivered at all, I call LaVerne and she responds quickly, resolves issue, and always follows up to make sure everything arrived as it should. I highly recommend reaching out to her if you find yourself in a similar situation (plus, I told her I will make my missing that her email gets flooded and more hands will be raised the next time we’re asked if we know her 😊).
The conference PowerPoints and other presentation materials will be available later in the month on the ElectEd portal if you’d like to review them.
I would also like to give a loud, boisterous cheer to all of you for surviving the Board of Review season!  I hope it went as smoothly as possible.  Make sure to celebrate yourselves for a job WELL done!!!  If no one else has said it, let me be the first to say I’m proud of each one of you.  This is no easy task, but YOU successfully did it all while maintaining your other departmental duties and your sanity!!
Lastly, I’d like to give a special thanks to Jim Wendt, Town Clerk of Watertown, for gifting me with the recipe book he made in memory of his mom.  It’s filled with amazing memories and her homemade recipes!  I’m so excited to see the recipe book we will make honoring our treasured goodies.
As we move into a busy election planning season, please find a little time to catch your breath and take care of yourselves along the way.
Self-care equates to self-preservation of our minds, bodies, and inner beings. ❤

Add Your Recipe(s) to the WMCA Cookbook!
Do you have a go-to dish that always gets rave reviews? Whether it’s a beloved family recipe, a crowd-pleasing appetizer, or an irresistible dessert — we’d love to feature it in the WMCA Recipe Book!
We’re gathering recipes from our members to create a delicious collection that celebrates the creativity and community of WMCA. This cookbook is the brainchild of Jim Wendt, inspired by his heartfelt project curating a cookbook with his mother’s recipes — and we’re excited to carry that spirit forward.
Feel free to include any stories or photos that go along with your recipe! You can add them directly in the survey or email them to wmcacookbook@gmail.com. Whether it’s sweet, savory, simple, or gourmet — we’d be thrilled to include it.

Friendly Clerklist Reminder:
Please remember that it is against our Information Technology Policy to “Reply All” to ClerkList emails. We kindly ask that you refrain from doing so — especially for short responses such as “Me too” or “Following.” Please use the "Reply All" feature only when directly answering or adding additional information to the proposed question.
This small courtesy helps reduce unnecessary emails and keeps everyone’s inboxes more manageable.
