Tourism in Italy: Why worry?
ETOA seminar
Starhotels Michelangelo, Florence
5th February, 9:30am- 12:30pm

2015 is a year of great promise for Italy with EXPO in Milan and reforms to ENIT, the national tourism body. But is Italy prepared for the next decade of tourism or are there fundamental problems?
The Rome city council has just announced it is considering an increase in the city tax for 5 star hotels to 10 euros per night. The question of city taxes, due notice and their impact will be one of a number of important topics to be covered during the seminar.

Best Available Rate Seminar at MAMA
The recent ruling in Germany on the 9th January regarding rate parity clauses has brought cases in other countries back under the spotlight. Hotels and OTAs are considering their distribution and pricing strategies and the potential impact of further developments. Given the importance of this topic, day 2 of this year’s MAMA
will open with a seminar dedicated to BAR and the implications for the industry. This will feature expert analysis including the legal implications plus a Q&A session.
