HFMA Michigan Great Lakes Chapter Update – May 2025
Chapter President’s Message
Spring has sprung, and with it, a burst of vibrant education, networking, and chapter planning!
In April we hosted our Women in Leadership Conference at the picturesque Sunnybrook Country Club. With nearly 200 enthusiastic attendees, this event continues its place as one of our chapter's premier events. It offered a multitude of valuable education, programming, networking, and sponsorship opportunities for our members and business partners. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and made this event a resounding success!
A special shout-out goes to Rachel Hatt, Brittany Zuzelski, and all the incredible volunteers who poured their time and energy into planning and coordinating this year's conference. Your dedication is the cornerstone of our chapter's success, and we couldn't have done it without you!

Courtney Guernsey also led our Mini-Leadership Summit at the Michigan Health & Hospital Association (MHA) headquarters to gear up for the HFMA Leadership Summit in Nashville, Tennessee. For the second year in a row, we've invited a select group of additional guests to join our current chapter leaders at the summit, fostering the growth of future leaders. This initiative underscores our commitment to a robust succession plan that promises continued success for years to come. Pictured below are our in person attendees. We look forward to Courtney’s leadership in the coming year!
Our Spring Fling Conference is happening this week! These final in-person events of the chapter year boast an impressive lineup of speakers, captivating topics, and ample opportunities to connect with colleagues, peers, and friends. It's an event you won't want to miss!
We're also actively interviewing for a new chapter Administrative Assistant. This role averages 20 hours per week and is crucial to supporting our chapter operations. If you know someone who is creative, flexible, and eager to make a difference, please spread the word within your professional networks!
This month, we're shining the spotlight on our Volunteer, Tashia Lindvall-Day, and Chapter Sponsor Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. Your unwavering support and contributions are the lifeblood of our chapter's success. Thank you for all that you do! We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.
