JUST ANNOUNCED: The Women in Business Signature Event, How Smart Women Pivot and Relaunch Their Careers, will be held this year on Friday, November 30 from 7:30-11:00 AM at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner. If you’ve thought about a career change or want to move up or across your organization, then don’t miss this event! This exceptional speaker series includes some of the most influential and powerful women in the region and is a must attend for new and seasoned professionals. Last Chance to Register for the 2018 Virginia Senatorial Debate Next Wednesday!
The 2018 Virginia Senatorial Debate is next Wednesday, September 26 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Capital One Bank. Once again, the nation is turning its eyes to Virginia – as control of the United States Senate hangs in the balance. The Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce invites you to attend the Northern Virginia Senatorial debate between Senator Tim Kaine (Democrat) and Chairman Corey Stewart (Republican). Highly respected journalist and political commentator, political director of NBC News, and moderator of NBC’s Meet The Press, Chuck Todd, will moderate the debate, which will focus on the critical issues facing Virginia voters. The Debate will air live on NBC4 and will be broadcast on NBC affiliates statewide. The Debate will be streamed live on NBCWashington.com and the NBCWashington news app. Twitter users can follow the Debate online: @novachamber and #VASenateDebate. Leadership Fairfax’s 30th Anniversary Celebration
Leadership Fairfax is turning 30! Celebrate 30 years of community partnerships, volunteer projects and leadership development with fellow leaders, colleagues, friends and alumni. the 30th Anniversary event celebrates Leadership Fairfax’s beginnings as a program of the then Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce through its development into an independent community nonprofit that has graduated over 1,800 alumni. The event will feature entertainment, signature cocktails, dancing, an awesome silent auction, and networking, as well as TEDx style talks and much more! The event will be held on Thursday, Oct. 25 from 6:00-9:30PM at the Inova Center for Personalized Health in Fairfax. To learn more and register, click here.

Community Foundation to Honor Ellen and Jim Dyke at the 2018 Raise the Region Gala
On Friday, October 5, the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia will hold the 2018 Raise the Region Gala at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner from 6:30-10:00 PM. The event will be co-hosted by Todd Stottlemyer and Bobbie and Bill Kilberg. Honary chairs include Former Vice President Walter Mondale, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, Former Virginia Governor L. Douglas Wilder, U.S. Senator Mark Warner, Former Secretary of State Colin Powell, Virginia House Speaker Kirk Cox, D.C. Volunteer Fairfax Announces Partnership with The Starbucks Foundation and Points of Light
Volunteer Fairfax, the leading volunteer service organization in Fairfax County, announced a new partnership between Points of Light and The Starbucks Foundation in a recently developed employer-led service program created to deepen impactful service in local communities. Along with 12 other Points of Light affiliate organizations across the nation, Volunteer Fairfax has been selected to participate in the initial six-month pilot Starbucks Service Fellows Program, launched this earlier this month at Starbucks’ headquarters in Seattle, WA. Award-Winning Journalist Andrea McCarren to Join PenFed Team 
Andrea McCarren, one of Washington’s most accomplished television journalists, is moving from WUSA9 (CBS) to PenFed Credit Union to lead the company’s new digital division, PenFed President and CEO James Schenck recently announced. McCarren will begin in January 2019 as Vice President and Chief Content Officer for PenFed Digital, which will highlight the inspiring work of veterans, active duty service members, military families and the national defense community. Eric Pietras Joins Wells Fargo Capital Finance Government Services Group
Wells Fargo Capital Finance, part of Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC), announced that Eric Pietras has been named senior vice president and business development officer for its Government Service Group. The Government Service Group provides industry-specialized financing solutions to businesses that contact with federal, state, and municipal governments. Based in McLean, Virginia, Pietras reports to David Ellis, senior vice president and regional sales manager for the Southeast Region, Government Services Group. SOSi Awarded Contract to Support U.S. Diplomatic Mission in Iraq
SOS International LLC (SOSi) announced its award of a $5 million base plus four-year contract by the U.S. Army to provide human resources, accounting, and technical security assistance services to the Office of Security Cooperation at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. U.S. security assistance supports the development of a modern, accountable, fiscally sustainable, and professional Iraqi military capable of defending Iraq and its borders. Reston Limousine Now 8th Largest Fleet in the Country

Reston Limousine has announced that it is now has the 8th largest fleet in the United States. Since 2013, the Women owned, luxury transportation company has moved up 10 spaces in five years. Reston Limousine has also donated over $1 million in transportation to charities and reputable causes since their start, and hired over 120 new drives since January 2018.
