Universal Design for Learning Workshop

Tuesday 8 December, 2.00pm - 3.30pm

Have you heard about accessibility but are not sure where to start? Have you wondered how to make your learning materials suit as many learners as possible? Would you like to know what the top 5 things are that you can do right now to help your students more effectively understand and contribute in your course?

Come along to this workshop and learn how to:

  • use Blackboard and Blackboard Ally to improve access for all students in your course site
  • create or choose learning resources that maximise access for all
  • liaise with Student Accessibility and Disability Services regarding accessibility
  • find information on Universal Design for Learning and accessibility

  1. Go to the Teams meeting in the L&T Engagement Community
  2. Click the blue bar with the meeting title and choose View Meeting Details
  3. Click Add to my calendar

L&T Practice Program (FHEA/SFHEA)

EOIs closing Sunday 6 December

For staff interested in applying to join the Learning and Teaching Practice Program – seeking recognition as a HEA Fellow or Senior Fellow – the Expression of Interest (EOI) process is open now, and closes at midnight Sunday 6 December. Successful applicants will be invited into the Program for T1, 2021.

Teaching for Learning Program (AFHEA)

Evidence of learning due Monday 18 January, 2021

Teaching for Learning consists of seven short online modules, and is for staff new to teaching (full-time and sessional) or in L&T support roles. Successful completion of the program leads to Advance HE, Associate Fellow (AFHEA) and eligibility for credit into the Graduate Certificate in University Learning and Teaching. The date for participants to submit their evidence of learning for T3 is Monday 18 January, 2021.
