METHANE FINANCE ROUNDTABLE
|
|
|
The Bilateral Chamber hosted an exclusive roundtable on financing methane abatement in collaboration with the Atlantic Council, Environmental Defense Fund, and PIMCO. The presentation was followed by an engaging discussion on the draft guidance from the Methane Finance Working Group formed in the wake of COP 28. Decision makers from across the industry asked insightful questions, provided valuable feedback, and made direct contributions to the final guidance from the Methane Finance Working Group. BOARDROOM SESSION: Côte d’Ivoire
|
H.E. Mamadou Sangafowa-Coulibaly, the Minister of Mines, Petroleum, and Energy of Côte d’Ivoire, along with his delegation, delivered a compelling presentation outlining the energy opportunities within their country. They highlighted recent studies that showcase a promising energy sector outlook and outlined the next steps for industry partners seeking to deepen their engagement.

UNLOCKING LIBYA’S ENERGY EXPLORATION AND POTENTIAL FORUM
|
|
|
H.E. Masoud Suleman, Chairman of the Libyan National Oil Corporation, and H.E. Dr. Khalifa R. Abdulsadek, Minister of Oil and Gas, launched Libya’s first international upstream bid round in 17 years. During the event, U.S. industry leaders and investors engaged with Libyan energy officials. Attendees also heard from Tom Hardy, Acting Director of the U.S. Trade and Development Agency, who emphasized the agency’s commitment to supporting the export of U.S. goods and services for critical infrastructure projects in emerging economies.

BOARDROOM SESSION: NAMIBIA
|
During an engaging roundtable session, Namibia’s Petroleum Commissioner, Maggy Shino, highlighted the achievements and future potential of the country’s energy sector. She emphasized the promising offshore opportunities in the Orange Basin, leaving attendees with the message that in Namibia, anything is possible.

BOARDROOM SESSION: EQUATORIAL GUINEA
|
The roundtable featured H.E. Antonio Oburu Ondo, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mining Development of Equatorial Guinea, along with several representatives from GEPetrol and Sonagas. The Minister highlighted Equatorial Guinea’s renewed focus on exploration and emphasized the country’s long-term commitment to hydrocarbon development, as it strives to secure its position as a key supplier of gas in Africa.
