A Letter from our President, Wendy Glick

We’re growing and I’m so excited! For years, the Greater Wichita Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals has held at or slightly below 100 members. I am pleased to share that in our recent report from AFP International, which handles the processing of new members as well as renewing members, we are 105 members strong! Growing membership is the goal of this year’s Board of Directorship and it looks like we are on our way to achieving our goal! A BIG welcome to our new members whose names are always shared in our monthly newsletter. I hope to meet each of you in an upcoming professional development session!

Speaking of upcoming professional development sessions . . . you won’t want to miss the session on Thursday, May 17th, titled “Our Best Takeaways”. The session will be a presentation by this year’s scholarship recipients, Chamberlain Scholar, Jessica Boone; MAC 2018 Scholarship recipients, Mitch Drees and Jill Bosley; President-Elect, Mike Wescott and myself! All of us attended either the AFP International Conference in New Orleans OR the Mid America Conference on Fundraising in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. We’ll each be sharing our very best takeaways from our time at the conference and I can’t wait to share with you what I learned. Here’s a teaser . . . 14 is the new 12. You’ll have to come to the session on May 17th to find out exactly what it’s all about! Hope to see you then.

Any individual can submit an Intent to Nominate application for a deserving philanthropist or organization.
