SHOUT OUT TO FACILITY MANAGERS
Facility managers are the often-invisible glue that keeps a facility running. Always on call, responsible for day-to-day operations and for the safety and efficiency of the facility and the people therein. FMs have always been tasked with keeping up with changes in the industry, but nobody could have anticipated the effects of a pandemic and the impact it is having on the workplace. The Communications Committee has heard innumerable accolades and examples of greatness regarding our professional membership. We are proud to have such an amazing group of professionals and would like to recognize your excellence in rising to the current challenges. The Greater Triangle Facility Managers’ responsiveness, innovative thinking, and fearless positive attitude along with the willingness to act are a huge contributor in making our region so desirable.

IFMA WORLD WORKPLACE 2020
IFMA has decided to move forward with World Workplace 2020 as a live event with a change in location and dates. The Executive Committee has agreed to reschedule World Workplace 2020 for this Dec. 9-11 and relocate the conference to the Gaylord Texan Resort Hotel & Convention Center, located between Dallas and Fort Worth in Grapevine, Texas, USA.
Just six minutes from DFW International Airport, the Gaylord Texan is situated on 125 acres at the southern tip of Lake Grapevine. As a resort hotel, it can accommodate all aspects of our conference and expo, from meeting rooms to guest rooms to exhibit space. World Workplace will be self-contained in one facility, with no overlap from other conferences.
As a Marriott International property, the Gaylord Texan has 200+ cleaning protocols throughout every physical space in the hotel as part of Marriott’s Commitment to Clean. We are confident in their multi-pronged approach to the health and safety of their guests and staff. IFMA will also enforce a list of health and safety protocols on site, including:
- Mandatory temperature scans
- Required masks
- Social distancing practices
- On-site medical assistance
IFMA’s Health and Safety Protocol Task Force has been working to ensure that World Workplace is a model of excellence in providing a safe environment for all attendees. By implementing the latest, most highly recommended safety measures, IFMA will lead the way in demonstrating what re-opening a facility for group gatherings looks like.
Early-bird registration will be extended to Sept. 18, 2020, and we have updated our cancellation policy to state that attendees who need to cancel their registration for any reason can receive a 100% refund before Oct. 12, 2020. After this date, they have the option to either transfer registration to World Workplace 2021 or to a colleague.
