Welcome to Trimester 3 2017

On behalf of the GBS community I would like to welcome all our commencing students who join us this trimester. We're so glad to have you as part of our community. Starting university is exciting but it can also be quite daunting — so we've created the Student Survival Guide to highlight the most important things you’ll need to know.

Welcome back to our continuing students. I hope you enjoyed your short break and you're ready to make the most out of Trimester 3.

In this edition

In this edition of The GBS Edge you will find information on student opportunities, tips for effective time management, upcoming events and more.

Good luck with your studies this trimester and I look forward to seeing you around campus.

Best wishes

Love music? These GBS students just created the app you need

Phann musicThere’s a certain thrill that comes from discovering an incredible local band, away from the mainstream media and Top 40 countdowns and two GBS students are hoping to make that process easier for music lovers, as well as the artists and venues they’re searching for.

Phann Music is an app developed by Bachelor of Commerce student Nathan Nagy and Bachelor of Business student Peter Hamilton.

The app uses location based services and features to identify nearby gigs that fit a user’s music taste. Much more than that though, it also provides a valuable platform for musicians wanting to increase their profile and venues needing to publicise events.
