Dear Members and Friends
You will
recall, back in November 2023, I
agreed to continue as Chief
Executive until such time as my
successor was recruited in 2024.
At the Chamber’s 183rd AGM last
week, our Chairwoman Dawn Tan
Ly-Ru announced I will step down
as Chief Executive on 31 August
2024 to assume the role of
Advisor to the Board for the
remainder of this year.
I will be succeeded by
Alan Y L Ng with effect from
1 September 2024. Alan is, like
me, a proud Singaporean. He has
over 25 years of experience
across the public, private and
non-profit sectors. His career
includes a decade of service
with the Singapore Government in
various roles in the Trade
Development Board, International
Enterprise Singapore and the
Intellectual Property Office of
Singapore. He also held
managerial roles in
international institutions like
the Asian Development Bank and
the World Bank Group. He spent
five years with the UAE
Government working with the Abu
Dhabi Fund for Development as
the Strategy Advisor to the
Chairman. He was previously the
Managing Partner of ABBA
Consulting Pte Ltd where he
focused on branding and
intellectual property strategy.
Alan is also the Co-Founder of
Brands For Good Limited which,
since 2017, has been inspiring
and empowering businesses to do
good through circular innovation
and corporate social
responsibility.
He holds
a Masters degree in Business
Administration from Ateneo De
Manila University’s Graduate
School of Business and a
Bachelor of Science degree in
Economics from the London School
of Economics and Political
Science. With his diverse
experience, the Board and I have
every confidence Alan will be a
driving force for the continued
development of our Chamber in
the service of business and
Singapore. Please join me in
congratulating Alan and on
wishing him every success.
Yours faithfully
Victor Mills
Chief Executive
