HFMA Michigan Great Lakes Chapter Update – August 2025
Chapter President’s Message
Courtney Guernsey, President, Michigan Great Lakes Chapter of HFMA

Dear HFMA Michigan Great Lakes Chapter Members,
As we approach the close of summer, I am excited to share some important news about a new initiative we are launching: the Enterprise Champion Program. This program is designed to strengthen the partnership between our Enterprise Organizations and the Michigan Great Lakes HFMA Chapter, ensuring that the voices of our valued partners are heard and represented in meaningful ways.
What is the Enterprise Champion Program?
The Enterprise Champion Program invites each Enterprise Organization to appoint a dedicated representative—an Enterprise Champion—who will serve as a bridge between their organization and our chapter. The goal is to create a direct channel for collaboration, insights, and shared priorities that will guide how we continue to bring value to our partners.
Why Appoint an Enterprise Champion?
Enterprise Champions will have a unique opportunity to:
  • Attend the 70th Annual Fall Conference free of charge.
  • Participate in an exclusive breakout session designed specifically for Enterprise Organizations.
  • Share insights into organizational goals, strategic initiatives, and areas where our chapter can provide greater support.
  • Be recognized during the Fall Conference and in our monthly chapter newsletter.
  • Engage in exclusive events throughout the year tailored to Enterprise partners.
Who Should Serve as a Champion?
We encourage organizations to select leaders or emerging leaders who are deeply engaged in strategy, business development, and partnerships. The most impactful Champions will bring:
  • A strong understanding of their organization’s goals and initiatives.
  • The ability to provide insights on industry challenges and opportunities.
  • A passion for collaboration and strengthening the relationship with HFMA.
Next Steps
We are asking all Enterprise Partners to appoint their Enterprise Champion. Once appointed, Champions will receive a welcome email and a discount code to register for the Fall Conference at no cost.
You can find more details and general registration information here: Michigan Great Lakes Fall Conference Registration
The Enterprise Champion Program is an exciting step forward in our journey to build stronger, more engaged partnerships. I look forward to seeing this program come to life at our Fall Conference and throughout the year ahead. Thank you for your continued commitment and support—it is your engagement that makes our chapter thrive.
