TEMPO NEWSLETTER #5

New content on TEMPO's Website!

Since our last Newsletter in June we have uploaded more than 10 new deliverables

During these last months we have been active and working to get the most out of the TEMPO project.

The project partners have worked tirelessly to and you can check all about it in our website. The publications range from progress reports on TEMPO demosites to business models!

Discover these and many more deliverables in TEMPO's website!

Our latest deliverables are D.3.3 & D.4.3.

Both of them approach integrated improved innovations in two different Networks, ENERPIPE and A2A's.

Smart DH controller testing in Brescia

In the final heating season of the TEMPO project, the last round of testing and monitoring has started. In the district heating (DH) grid of Brescia in Italy, operated by A2A, VITO is testing an innovative smart DH controller. This controller optimizes the supply and return temperatures in the DH network to improve the efficiency of the system and reduce peak loads.

Using data-driven models and non-linear optimization algorithms, the controller predicts the future behavior in the network, and carefully decides the optimal network and building operation schedules. This allows to anticipate on heat consumption peaks and start pre-charging the network ahead of time, or adjust the network temperatures to minimize the heat losses.

In the near future, these innovations will become available commercially as a part of the STORM district energy controller.

After it’s set up, the smart DH controller just takes care of all these things automatically.

Nurnberg Demosite Video tour

Have you ever wondered what TEMPO demosites look like? We were curious too and decided to share it with you!

We are working on creating a virtual tour of the ENERPIPE demosite in the Nurnberg region (Germany), which will be ready in early 2022.
It will be an experience not to be missed!

As always, we will give you all the details on our social media channels, so stay tuned!

TEMPO WORKSHOP - VALUE PROPOSITIONS & BUSINESS MODELS FOR NEW TECHNOLOGIES IN LTDH

As you may have heard, TEMPO is coming to an end, but the best is yet to come!
Next Wednesday 15th December, we are organising a very special workshop “Value Propositions and Business models for new technologies in LTDH”.

It will take place virtually from 10:30 to 12:00. During this hour and a half we will have the presence of three outstanding speakers, Markus Thürnbeck-Kiss (Group Product Manager at Thermaflex International) presenting TEMPO’s value proposition; Chiara Candelise (Senior Research Fellow at Bocconi University and Founder of Ecomill), explaining her work on Crowdfunding As A Novel Financial Tool For District Heating Projects; and Kristina Lygnerud (Energy Department Manager, IVL) will discuss the difference between High & Low Temperature District Heating thanks to an analyses of 6 Low Temperature installations.

Registration is now open! Click here not to miss one of the last TEMPO events.

TEMPO Final event

After 5 years, in March 2022 TEMPO will come to an end, so on Thursday 17th March we will organise a final event worthy of the project!

It may seem a bit far away in time, but we are already working on it to organise a dynamic and interesting final event, just as the project has been all along.

The details are still to be determined but, if the health situation allows it, we will organise a big in-person event full of surprises!

Stay tuned because we will share more information soon!
