OVMA requests elective procedure return as state begins to reopen
OVMA has formally requested Gov. Mike DeWine re-establish elective veterinary procedures, such as spay/neuter and dental prophylaxis, as acceptable activities. The governor has announced plans to gradually reopen the state, as well as return elective human surgical procedures into practice in the near future, precipitating the request.
General plans to begin reopening are tentatively scheduled to start on May 1; however, OVMA requested the return to elective procedures as soon as possible. The proposal also calls for the continuation of appropriate social distancing parameters and responsible use and preservation of PPE.
OVMA will notify members as soon as we have additional information.
