On Friday 1 November we gathered for the 14th annual Griffith Business School Gala Dinner to celebrate the significant achievements of the School's community, and to honour the winners of the 2019 Outstanding Alumni Award. Read more about the event.
 New BusinessPLUS Future Leaders Scholarships
 In 2019 Griffith Business School awarded over $1.2 million in scholarships to support and encourage students in their study endeavours. Our newest scholarships, the BusinessPLUS Future Leaders Scholarships, are designed to support continuing students who have experienced financial hardship and/or educational disadvantage that has impacted their ability to achieve their full potential.
The scholarships are valued at $2,500 and are open to students with a GPA of 5 or above.

Undertaking an internship gives you the chance to gain real work experience, become more aware of Australian workplace culture and expectations, and make the links between academic theory and practice. Most importantly though, you will graduate ahead of the pack with work experience that matters!

Combat climate change with the Hult Prize Competition
 Hult Prize is the world’s largest engine for social change and this year along with the United Nations and Earth Hour, Hult Prize aims to combat climate change.
If you have an idea for a business that could have a positive impact on climate change with every sale made, we want to hear from you. Form a team of 3-4 Griffith University students, construct a 6-minute pitch showcasing your idea and showcase it at the Hult Prize Griffith University campus Final.

 Student Leader Graduation
Family and friends came together to farewell this year's cohort of Student Leaders at a graduation ceremony earlier this week. On behalf of the GBS Community, we want to thank our wonderful Student Leaders who gave back more than 2,000 hours of service to the University and the wider community.
We look forward to welcoming our next cohort of Student Leaders to the program next year. Applications for the 2021-2022 program will open in July 2020. Stay tuned and find out more on the website.

 Crystal wins 2019 AMP University Challenge
Congratulations to Bachelor of Commerce student Crystal Palliser who has taken home $5,000 as the winner of the 2019 AMP University Challenge!
Crystal was among the five finalists tested on their technical knowledge, as well as their ability to engage with clients and explain a financial strategy in a mock advice interview.
Crystal competed against teams from Central Queensland University, Deakin University and TAFE NSW.

 Tackling plastic pollution issues with a winning idea
Congratulations to business students Hannah Licciardo, Makoto Tanabe and Jordan Gifford who won the Griffith Innovation Challenge.
The winning team's idea 'Envirofil' is to create 3D printing filament made entirely from recycled plastic waste; a combination of sustainability and technology advancements.
Congratulations also to the runner-up team Samuel Bruhn and Harrison Croaker who received $2,500, and finalist team Jessica Nguyen, Ben Lavery and Miranda Dune who received $1,500.

Nathan Brierley is kicking career goals, having recently been promoted to Senior Economist at the world-renowned Deloitte Access Economics. It's a position he credits to hard work, dedication and the extracurricular opportunities he had access to while studying with Griffith.

 Sporting chance that led to a role with Gold Coast Titans
Teah Westerman comfortably stepped into the role of commercial coordinator at Gold Coast Titans as a familiar face in the office.
Less than a year earlier, Teah was an intern with the NRL club's marketing team, learning the ropes and getting a taste of the dynamics of the business.

PASS is a free program that offers structured and fun group learning sessions for some of the courses that students find to be more challenging.
The sessions are facilitated by students who have previously achieved excellent results in the course and who have completed a nationally accredited training program.
