Anguilla Meeting Planning Overview

A British overseas territory in the Eastern Caribbean, Anguilla is a tropical oasis of stunning white-sand beaches, turquoise waters and quaint villages. The 35-square-mile-island is 16 miles long and 3 miles at its widest point, which makes moving between Anguilla event venues easily navigable.

Situated less than 10 miles north of St. Martin, 60 miles northwest of St. Kitts and 200 miles east of Puerto Rico, Anguilla is accessible by air through main gateways in Puerto Rico, St. Maarten/Martin, Antiqua and St. Kitts. The flight time from San Juan, Puerto Rico to Anguilla's Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport is about 55 minutes.

Hotel venues in Anguilla comprise mostly boutique style properties; with a couple of notable exceptions, most have less than 100 rooms. Arguably the best equipped meeting group options include the 166-room Viceroy Anguilla, a 35-acre luxury resort with 16,000 square feet of meeting space, gourmet dining, and a spa that sits on 3,200 feet of exclusive Caribbean beachfront; and the 118-room Cuisinart Golf Resort & Spa with 15,000 square feet of meeting space. (Other options include the 98-room Cap Juluca, 27-room Anacona Boutique Hotel and 27-unit Anguilla Great House Beach Resort.)

For unique special event venues in Anguilla, the possibilities include the Ocean Terrace at Viceroy Anguilla, which can accommodate up to 40 guests for receptions overlooking the Caribbean Sea; and Spyglass Hill Villa, a four-bedroom property set on the Road Bay Harbor.

Relaxation for attendees is easily accomplished on the island, which has 12 miles of beaches, laid-back beach bars, watersports galore, yacht charters and an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Greg Norman.

Anguilla has more than two dozen restaurants highlighted by Coba at Viceroy Anguilla, where beautiful ocean views complement a menu dotted with entrees like Chilean Seabass and Grilled Mahi Mahi. For wine-loving diners, Malliouhana has more than 25,000 bottles of wine and Koal Keels boasts over 35,000 bottles in its wine cellar.
