Named for Perimeter Mall and the area surrounding it, Perimeter Center is located north of Atlanta and comprises the cities of Brookhaven, Dunwoody, and Sandy Springs. It is the epicenter of one of the Southeast's largest Fortune 500 company business districts and serves as home to names such as Newell Rubbermaid, UPS and First Data Corporation. As a result, the Perimeter Center meeting venues remain quite busy.
Close to interstate access points for GA 400, I-285 and I-85, Perimeter Center's appeal is that it's outside of, yet provides easy access to, downtown Atlanta. Just 10 minutes from the heart of Atlanta and 30 minutes from Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Perimeter Center also has three MARTA stations as well as a robust network of sidewalks connecting Perimeter Mall and adjacent restaurants, hotels and businesses.
With its shopping (Perimeter Mall features more than 200 retail shops), hotels, and restaurants, Perimeter Center attracts a mix of groups that are looking for convenience (free parking is a big draw) and affordability. Planners can expect to find top-name accommodations, including the 495-room Crowne Plaza, with 32,000 square feet of meeting space; the 341-room Marriott, which just completed a $23 million renovation; the Hilton Suites Atlanta-Perimeter with 6,000 square feet of meeting space for up to 500 guests and the 275-room W, with 10,000 square feet of meeting space.
Popular venues in Perimeter Center are plentiful. Look no further than the Perimeter Summit, which is home to the historic Villa Christina, Retreat, as well as the new 177-room, full-service Hyatt Atlanta Perimeter. Serving Atlanta meeting planners for more than 17 years, Villa Christina offers 20,000 square feet of flexible space, two ballrooms, a restaurant with award-winning chefs, two private dining rooms, an outdoor pavilion and a nine-hole putting green. The more contemporary Retreat features a light-filled atrium with floor-to-ceiling windows that can accommodate up to 1,000 guests for a reception. The Retreat's Executive Dining Room may also be reserved for more intimate gatherings with seating for up to 60.
Other nearby event venues in Perimeter's environs include the Pavilion of Dunwoody, which features a 7,000-square-foot ballroom that accommodates up to 425, a patio and two meeting rooms. Heritage Sandy Springs, just outside Perimeter Center on Roswell Road, offers 14,000 square feet of meeting space.
Dining venues in Perimeter Center abound, helping to distinguish it as a premier dining spot. Six signature restaurants are within Perimeter Mall, including one of the area's institutions, McKendrick's Steak House, which has been considered one of the best steakhouses in Atlanta for nearly 20 years. McKendrick's offers groups two private dining rooms, one with seating for up to 20 and the other with seating for 60 guests. Visitors may also want to check out Goldfish, Vino Venue or Dunwoody Bistro.
