Bled, Slovenia Meeting Planning Overview

With its fairytale location, the Alpine village of Bled has welcomed travelers for thousands of years. Resting on a tiny island in the middle of adjoining Lake Bled is the Church of the Assumption of Mary, a beloved pilgrimage site. Graced by church spires, snow-covered peaks and a castle, this tranquil lakeside setting supports cosmopolitan meetings in unique event venues in Bled.

Joze Pucnik Ljubljana International Airport, serving central Slovenia, is the closest airport to Bled; seven carriers, including Air France, Finnair and CSA, offer service. Bled is easily managed on foot, and a walk around the lake takes about an hour. The 45-minute trip to the island via a traditional pletna is a must.

A peaceful park overlooking Lake Bled provides the setting for Bled Festival Hall, the primary congress center in Bled. The venues include a 500-seat main hall, three smaller halls for 20 to 150, and a 2,690-square-foot lobby that doubles as exhibition space.

Among the 2,500 accommodations in Bled, hotel meeting venues include the home of Casino Bled, the 217-room Park Hotel with eight conference rooms for up to 120 delegates. The impressive 150-room Hotel Golf offers the area's largest hotel convention center with the multi-functional Jupiter Conference Hall for 350, two conference rooms (10-230) and five meeting rooms for up to 80. Once President Tito's summer home, the 87-room Grand Hotel Toplice has four venues and a terrace for gala events.

The King's Club House offers a frescoed conference room for 10. Event venues in Bled Castle, 426 feet above Lake Bled and Slovenia's oldest castle, include an outdoor terrace, restaurant and event hall for groups up to 60. Sportna Dvorana handles exhibitions, concerts or meetings for up to 5,000 and is available for a buyout for a day of ice skating.

Pension Alp has three rooms that seat up to 40 guests for a meal of Slovenian delicacies. A winter garden that seats 50 and a dining room for 50 offer casual settings at Taverna Pri Stefanu. Restaurant Labod, in the center of town, offers accommodations for 60 indoors and 70 on the terrace, as well as terrific lake views.

"Search for the Sunken Bell" is a team-building event based on local legend and suitable for groups up to 300. The interactive experience visits six locations around the lake and includes a trip to the island for a memorable capstone event.
