Boston's waterfront convention complex is easily one of the most convenient:, being geographically separated from the mainland by walkable bridges but only eight minutes from Logan International Airport. Boston Seaport event facilities are also among the most modern and popular with groups of all sizes.
Chief among Boston Seaport meeting sites is the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC), which is the largest exhibition center in the northeast U.S., with some 516,000 square feet of contiguous, column-free exhibition space. The BCEC's meeting room complexes can be combined and connected, and there are eight registration areas on two levels. Close by is the older Seaport World Trade Center and 426-room Seaport Hotel, built in 1998 but renovated in 2009. The Center features an 118,000-square-foot exhibit hall and a 396-seat amphitheater.
Additional spaces at Boston Seaport include the 793-room Westin Waterfront, which is adjacent to BCEC and offers 70,000 square feet of its own dedicated meeting space. Other properties are the 471-room Renaissance Waterfront, with 20,000 square feet of meeting space; and the 230-room Boston Harbor, with 15,000 square feet of meeting space.
Intriguing and unique facilities include the Boston Children's Museum, whose entire exhibition space is rentable; and the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum, comprising authentic tall ships and an interpretative center with meeting and banqueting space for 500.
Although at one time, the seaport was famous for only one restaurant, the legendary "NoName Restaurant," today's choices for conference-goers are expanding as fast as the district itself. Locals like Sam's, a French-American bistro with magnificent Seaport views and Sauciety, the restaurant in the Westin conference complex that allows diners to choose from tasty tapas and sauces to go with them. And yes, there still is a NoName Restaurant—the famous anonymous seafood shack plies its traditional fare a five-minute stroll from both conference centers.
