A living-history site that was occupied from prehistoric Indian times until it became a historic landmark in 1953. The old adobe home on the site, a fine example of authentic Monterey architecture and furnished with period pieces, is the oldest building in San Mateo County.

Millbrae Train Museum

Located at the former Train Station, which has been continuously in use since it was rebuilt in 1907. The inside has been set up as a display area with photos, artifacts, documents, books, and more. The entire museum is dedicated to railroad history of Millbrae, the Peninsula, and to some extent the Bay Area. Venture inside a 1941 Pullman sleeping car from the Premium Streamliner City of San Francisco. The car is in its original configuration and paint scheme, inside and out. Open Saturdays 10 am - 2 pm and by appointment.

Visit the “Journey to Work” exhibit, chronicling the history of the commute from stagecoaches to the automobile. Largest stained glass dome in a public building on entire West Coast.

Point Montara Lighthouse

Historical landmark
This picturesque light station stands just 30 feet tall, the perfect height for keeping its beam of light beneath the fog. Originally constructed in 1875, a new lighthouse tower arrived in 1928 from Mayo Beach on Cape Cod where it had served from 1881 to 1922. The lighthouse served as a naval training base during World War II.
