Planners looking to re-create a small-town America theme will enjoy the venues in Celebration, FL, which is a 4,900-acre master-planned community. Conceived by the Disney Company to resemble a quaint southern town, Celebration is a self-contained, pedestrian- and bicycle-friendly community in Kissimmee. It is near the Walt Disney World Resort but a world away from its bustle. Venues in Celebration, which include two hotels, shops, restaurants and a movie theater (together with a small grocery store, bank and a post office) reflect a nostalgic, pre-1940s architectural style.
Situated approximately 4 miles from Walt Disney World Resort, Celebration is 25 miles from the Orlando International Airport and 8 miles from the Orange County Convention Center.
Celebration is a great place to wind down and de-stress after intensive meeting sessions. Popular recreation activities include playing golf, bicycling through the community (bike rentals available at a local shop), viewing a film at the local movie theater, picnicking by the lake and shopping and dining in the town center. Or simply stroll through the picturesque town center, with its pastel-colored stucco buildings, palm trees, street lamps and brick streets.
Groups that wish to stay in the Celebration community have two options: The 115-room Bohemian Hotel Celebration, a lakeside, upscale AAA 4 Diamond property with 5,000 square feet of indoor meeting space, including two lakefront Ballrooms; and the 240-suite Mona Lisa Suite Hotel, which features one- and two-bedroom accommodations and 10,000 square feet of meeting space. Nearby hotels located just outside Celebration's boundaries are the 718-room Radisson Resort Orlando-Celebration and 919-room Ramada Orlando-Celebration Resort. Approximately three miles away from Celebration city center is the 652-room Mystic Dunes Resort & Golf Club.
An excellent option for off-site function space in Celebration is the Stetson University Conference Center, located two blocks from the town center, which has two computer labs, 15 function rooms for up to 175 attendees and inclusive meeting packages.
Excellent dining options are more plentiful that you might expect in a community its size. Among the choices that can accommodate group dining and functions are Cafe D'Antonio, which features Italian specialties prepared in an open kitchen with indoor seating and al fresco dining with lakeviews; Columbia Restaurant, where Spanish/Cuban cuisine is served in old-world-style dining rooms and an outdoor courtyard and Imperium Food and Wine, where fine wines and patio dining are the draw.
Two blocks from Market Street, the town's main street, is the Celebration Golf Club, a daily fee golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr.
