Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD)

Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW)

Chicago Midway International Airport is approximately 21 miles east/southeast of DuPage County. As of 2010, Midway was ranked 34th in the U.S. in terms of number of annual aircraft operations, 27th in terms of number of annual passengers, and 85th for air cargo. Midway is a major hub for Southwest Airlines. Other airline carriers serving Midway include Branson AirExpress, Delta, North Country Sky, Porter Airlines, Sun Country Airlines, and Volaris Airlines.

DuPage Regional Corporate Airport (DPA)

Metra offers commuter rail service throughout northern Illinois, transporting passengers in Cook, DuPage, Will, Lake, Kane, and McHenry Counties. Metra's system consists of more than 100 communities, 241 stations, 12 fare zones, and 11 lines running from downtown Chicago. Metra runs three lines in DuPage County and offers stations in such major communities as Elmhurst, Lombard, Villa Park, Glen Ellyn, Wheaton, Naperville, Lisle, Itasca, Addison, Bensenville, and Downers Grove. Metra operates on a distance-based fare zone; regular one-way fare to downtown Chicago ranges from $3.25 in Zone A to $10.25 in Zone M. Passengers can purchase weekend and 10-ride passes. Children under 7 ride free with an adult, and grade-school and high-school students receive a reduced fare with a valid school ID.


The Naperville Amtrak station, located at 105 East Fourth Avenue, serves DuPage County. The station offers service aboard the Southwest Chief route, which runs daily between Chicago and Los Angeles, as well as the California Zephyr route, which runs daily between Chicago and San Francisco, and the Illinois Service route, which stops at over 25 Illinois cities on its daily trips from Chicago to Carbondale. The Naperville Amtrak station is open Monday through Friday from 5:30 am to 6:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 8 am to 6:30 pm.
