Clermont is one of the Orlando area's fast growing residential communities. Among Clermont event venues, the best known is the Florida Citrus Tower, a 226-foot-tall structure built in 1956 to observe the miles of citrus groves surrounding it. Today, many of the groves have been cleared for residential neighborhoods and the growth has spurred new restaurants, stores and hotels.
Clermont is located 26 miles west of downtown Orlando, 34 miles from the Orlando International Airport, 30 miles from the Orange County Convention Center and 24 miles from Walt Disney World.
Hotel venues in Clermont include the 87-room Hampton Inn & Suites Clermont and 69-room Holiday Inn Express Clermont, which both have 1,000 square feet of meeting space. For a resort experience, the 250-unit Summer Bay Resort has standard and premium rooms and one- and two-bedroom condos, two-bedroom villas, four meeting rooms and a business center.
One of the popular special event venues in Clermont is the Valencia Room at the Florida Citrus Tower, which is located at the base of the tower and can accommodate 160 people for a reception. For an opulent setting, the $40-million, 60,000-square-foot Club at Bella Collina, overlooking a Nick Faldo-designed golf course, looks like a mansion that's been air-dropped from Tuscany. Sitting atop a hill, it's beautifully appointed with Italian stonework, handcrafted tiles, fountains, plazas and terraces. It can accommodate 700 people for a reception with indoor and outdoor venues.
To enjoy down time after meetings, some appealing choices for groups are tours of the Florida Citrus Tower, off-road driving in ATVs, 4 x 4s and buggies at Revolution Off Road, glider plane rides at the Seminole-Lake Gliderport and playing golf at Palisades Golf & Country Club, Kings Ridge Golf Club and Bella Collina Golf Club.
National chains like Carrabba's Italian Grill, Longhorn Steakhouse and the 19th Hole at Bella Collina Golf Club head the list of Clermont dining options.
