Gurugram (Gurgaon), India Meeting Planning Overview

The second largest city in the state of Haryana and one of the four major satellite cities of India's capital Delhi, Gurugram (formerly known as Gurgaon) has evolved into a corporate capital over the years. This important industrial and financial hub is home to numerous office complexes and corporate parks that house some of the top IT and Fortune 500 companies.

Gurugram is within commuting distance of Delhi via an expressway and the Delhi Metro. The city is also a stone's throw from Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport's Terminal 3, which serves the National Capital Region of Delhi.

Event venues and meeting spaces in Gurugram include the Casabella Banquet Hall at Omaxe Celebration Mall on Sohna Road, and the Corus Banquet Hall at Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road. Prominent MICE hotels in the city include the Hyatt Regency Gurgaon, which has more than 3,700 square meters of meeting space; Claremont Hotel and Convention Center, which has a convention hall that can accommodate 1,000 guests; and DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Gurgaon located on the Golf Course Road, which has about 1,400 square meters of meeting, conference, and banquet facilities.

Gurugram offers ample variety in its choice of entertainment venues. The magnificent Kingdom of Dreams, located near IFFCO Chowk Metro Station, is ideal for entertaining a large group as it showcases extravagant cinematic and theatrical musicals performed live at its Nautanki Mahal theatre. Gaming arenas like Smaaash and HangOut at DLF CyberHub, and escape game rooms like Mystery Rooms and the Hidden Hour offer an array of games and activities for groups. The city is also a paradise for shopaholics and foodies, with restaurants and shopping malls galore.

Other must visit places near Gurugram include the Sultanpur National Park and the NeverEnuf railway garden. The Sultanpur National Park is a temporary home to migrant birds from Europe and Siberia that arrive with the onset of winter and return when their colder homes have warmed up. The park is a nice, peaceful place that is usually visited by birding and bird watchers. NeverEnuf is a miniature train railroad laid out in a beautifully landscaped site located on the Panchgaon-Taoru road. The place attracts scores of visitors who come there to see its miniature world and watch the model trains hurtle across bridges and arduously trudge across mini hills.
