Hua Hin, Thailand Meeting Planning Overview
The resort destination of Hua Hin is situated along a five-mile-long beach, on the west coast of Thailand. Hua Hin event venues exude old-world charm: winding roads dotted with shops and restaurants built on stilts into the Gulf of Thailand that are a great way to savor seafood cooked in Thai style. Surprisingly, the area has the highest density of world-class golf courses in Thailand – with green-fee costs that are among the lowest in the world – yet it remains virtually undiscovered as an international golf destination. It is an incentive waiting to happen.
While there is a small airstrip in Hua Hin, the best way to connect is through Bangkok, which is 300 kilometers away by road. The Pattaya-Hua Hin Ferry takes three hours. Many hotels also provide transfer service to and from Bangkok. Chartered flights and helicopters are available.
There are no convention venues in Hua Hin per se, but hotel venues in Hua Hin include the 213-room Hyatt Regency Hua Hin, which has the most extensive conference facility, with a total of 745 square meters of meeting space. There are six well-appointed conference rooms, including the Grand Ballroom, which can accommodate up to 400 people. In addition are the 296-room Hilton Hua Hin Resort & Spa, which can accommodate 600; and the 201-room Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas, which has function rooms that can hold up to 250 and, for garden functions, as many as 450.
Leadership clinics and workshops, corporate packages with golf at the core and incentives are popular for those heading to Hua Hin. Day tour highlights include the Summer Palace, Hua Hin's famous 1920s railway station, an elephant camp, the Kaeng Krachan National Park, waterfalls and vantage points from where spectacular sunsets can be enjoyed. The colorful night market is a must. Specialized tours include activities like snorkelling, mountain trekking and kayaking.
Sam Roi Yot National Park, 60 kilometers from Hua Hin, is known for its limestone mountains, mangrove swamps and migrating birds; it can be a great post-tour getaway.
