Cvent stands with you during the Coronavirus outbreak. A letter from CEO & Founder Reggie Aggarwal
Lakewood is a re-imagined city, wedged between downtown Denver and the foothills of the Colorado Rockies. Minutes west of downtown and 45 minutes from Denver International Airport (You can find Denver pages here: Denver event venues and meeting space in Denver), Lakewood offers meeting friendly hotels with convenient access to local attractions like Belmar, Bandimere Speedway, Red Rocks Amphitheater, Colorado Mills Mall, Dinosaur Ridge and Coors Brewery. Most Lakewood meeting venues are found in the west or central part of the city, where groups will also have easy access to the Rocky Mountains.
Among Lakewood meeting venues is the Qwest Learning and Conference Center, a full-service conference facility with over 250,000 square feet of meeting space. On-site lodging is available in its 145 guest rooms, allowing planners to book a complete meeting package, state-of-the-art audio-visual and exceptional food service in a learning environment.
Hotel venues in Lakewood include the meeting friendly Sheraton Denver West Hotel. A block from 6th Avenue, close to the Federal Center, the newly updated property gives planners access to the Aura Spa and Wellness Center, Sheraton Club Rooms and Sheraton Club Lounge, and more than 18,000 square feet of IACC-approved meeting space. Adjacent to Colorado Mills Mall, the Holiday Inn Lakewood is another full-service meeting venue with more than 10,000 square feet of meeting space; and planners wishing to book an executive board meeting might consider the 102-room Residence Inn By Marriott Denver Southwest/Lakewood and its 625 square feet of meeting space.
The city's art and cultural community presents planners with one of the most unique Lakewood meeting venues: the 38,000-square-foot Lakewood Cultural Center, which offers meeting space, a state-of-the-art 310-seat theater, and free parking. (Attendees can also explore the Artisan Showcase gift shop and rotating exhibits.)
Lakewood also offers attendees an opportunity to explore the city's past at its Heritage Center. The center offers a walk through a replicated old town Lakewood, showcasing the history and the many changes, inventions and lifestyles of the 20th century. Located in Belmar Park, the museum has over 10 historic structures, 30,000 artifacts, a festival area and an outdoor amphitheater.
The urban center of Belmar is in the heart of Lakewood and is the newest addition to the city. Lakewood converted a dying regional mall into a 20-plus-block, outdoor shopping and dining destination. Located in central Lakewood, just north of 6th Avenue, Belmar offers over 70 shops and 14 restaurants, including the Elephant Bar, Ted's Montana Grill, and Baker St. Pub & Grill, plus entertainment like Century 16 Theatre and Lucky Strike. In the winter, Belmar also offers ice skating at the popular Rink.
Offer attendees a unique Lakewood event at Bandimere Speedway. Seating up to 23,500, this quarter-mile drag strip located just outside Lakewood can add the thrill of the race to your meeting. Discover why the NHRA calls this "Thunder Mountain."
