Lethbridge, AB Meeting Planning Overview
A mid-sized city with one of the warmest winters in the western Canadian provinces, Lethbridge is a strong meeting and tourism destination with proximity to Canadian Rockies ski resorts and national parks. Located in southwestern Alberta about two hours southeast of Calgary and about one hour north of the United States-Canada border, Lethbridge sits at the center of a trading area among Alberta, British Columbia, and the state of Montana.
Meeting participants enjoy Lethbridge's walkable, arts-rich downtown with plenty of shopping and dining options, as well as the city's dozens of parks and more than 100 miles of walking and running trails, beautified by Lethbridge's location along the Oldman River. Lethbridge's vibrant atmosphere also comes from its resident Lethbridge College and University of Lethbridge.
Meeting participants traveling to Lethbridge can fly into the Lethbridge Regional Airport. Set about 15 minutes from the city center, the airport features multiple daily flights to Calgary and Edmonton International Airports. Once in Lethbridge, meeting participants can hop aboard the Lethbridge Transit public bus system, which serves the entire city, especially downtown.
Lethbridge meeting and event venues include Exhibition Park, which features four pavilions ranging from 17,000 to 34,000 square feet, adjacent to Pioneer Park, which features 14,000 square feet of additional outdoor space. Exhibition Park's 10,000-square-foot Heritage Hall provides a perfect place for group events, thanks to its rustic charm and three large cedar balconies. Both the University of Lethbridge and Lethbridge College feature meeting and event spaces, as do a number of Lethbridge hotels. Lethbridge's multi-purpose arena, the ENMAX Centre, also accommodates staff retreats, conventions, and special events. Many of Lethbridge's unique venues, ranging from a serene Japanese garden to an exciting casino, also feature private event spaces.
