Mandaluyong, Philippines Meeting Planning Overview

One of the municipalities that comprise Metro Manila, Mandaluyong is dotted with booming commercial enterprises. Booming, too, are Mandaluyong event venues, as these are within the heart of the "Golden Triangle" (Manila, Makati, and Quezon City). Mandaluyong is known as the "New Tiger" of Metro Manila. Rich in history, the region was a part of the vast Kingdom of Namayan in the 15th century.

The fastest way to Mandaluyong is by air to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City, followed by a 30-minute taxi ride. The airport connects the Metro Manila region to major Asian destinations, including Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore, and many domestic locations.

Around an hour and 30 minutes away is Clark International Airport which caters to low-cost carriers. The airport provides service to Cebu, as well as Hong Kong; Macau; Singapore; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Doha, Qatar; and Incheon, South Korea.

The convention centers closest to Mandaluyong include the Quezon Convention Center, in the neighboring region of Quezon, which can host up to 7,000 persons. Other venues in Mandaluyong's environs are located about 30 minutes away in the city of Pasay. These include the 70,000-square-meter Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), the 46,647-square-meter SMX Convention Center for up to 18,000 persons, and the World Trade Center Metro Manila (WTCMM) for up to 14,000 persons.

Hotel venues in Mandaluyong include the 631-room Edsa Shangri-La, which is the only deluxe convention hotel in the area. It has 28 meeting rooms, over 3,000 square meters of meeting space and a 1,056-square-meter ballroom that accommodates 1,400 persons. Elsewhere, there are four function rooms at the 70-room New Horizon Hotel, which can accommodate up to 200 persons. In neighboring Makati, the 696-room Shangri-La accommodates 2,100 persons in its largest ballroom (1,434 square meters), and the 538-room Dusit Thani accommodates 1,200 persons.

A historical half-day tour of Metro Manila for groups can feature explorations of "Las Casas Filipinas" (traditional Filipino mansions made of stone or on wooden stilts) that have now been reconstructed and house paintings. A dinner cruise with live music can be organized for participants and spouses to experience the sunset over the Manila skyline. A group outing to the Pagsanjan Falls can include jungle treks and river rafting for team-building activities.
