Sitting on the west shore of Lake Apopka in Lake County, 23 miles west of downtown Orlando, Montverde is a tiny town amid rolling terrain that's best known for Montverde Academy, a private college preparatory school, and Bella Collina, a posh golf course community. Montverde event venues naturally cater to this clientele but are available for other events.
Montverde is situated 33 miles from Orlando International Airport, 28 Miles from the Orange County Convention Center and 30 miles from Walt Disney World.
While there are no hotel venues in Montverde, the town of Clermont, a rapidly growing suburban community 8 miles away, has a selection of smaller chain hotels, such as the 87-room Hampton Inn & Suites Clermont with 1,000 square feet of meeting space and the 69-room Holiday Inn Express Clermont with 1,000 square feet of meeting space.
Special event venues in Montverde include the Clubhouse at Bella Collina, a magnificent 60,000-square-foot, $40 million clubhouse that looks like a Tuscan mansion. It's lavishly appointed with Italian stonework, handcrafted tiles, wrought iron gates, fountains, plazas and terraces. Available for both indoor and outdoor functions, the clubhouse can accommodate up to 700 people for a reception. The 300-acre National Training Center in Clermont, a sports, health, fitness and education campus, also hosts special events.
Relaxation and recreation in the area comes in the form of golf at the Nick Faldo designed Bella Collina golf course, Sanctuary Ridge Golf Club and Legends Golf & Country Club; sightseeing excursions to the Florida Citrus Tower; and, for the adventurous, taking a glider plane ride at the Seminole-Lake Gliderport.
The elegant 19th Hole restaurant at the Clubhouse at Bella Collina offers groups an air of exclusivity and nearby Clermont has reliable national chain restaurants such as Carrabba's Italian Grill, Longhorn Steakhouse and Outback Steakhouse.
