Deeksha Bhoomi

Deekshabhoomi is one of the major Buddhist pilgrim centres in India. Its construction started in 1968 over four acres with quarters for monks. The stupa was built in 1978 and has been revered as a major Buddhist site since. It is the largest stupa in Asia and the largest hollow stupa in the world. The construction of the stupa is remarkable as it consists of a hemispherical two-storied building with each story capable of housing 5000 monks. Its architectural splendor and historical significance make Deekhshabhoomi a prominent pilgrim center.

Swaminarayan Temple

Pramukh Swami Maharaj sowed the seeds of Satsang in 1976 when he visited the Vidarbha region. In 1993, Pramukh Swami Maharaj performed the murti-pratishtha of the Hari mandir in the suburb of Vardhmannagar. Thereafter, in 1997, Swamishri inaugurated The Swaminarayan School. In 2004, the groundbreaking ceremony for the shikharbaddh mandir in the suburb of Wathoda was performed. The murti-pratishtha of the newly constructed shikharbaddh mandir was performed in 2013.

Zero Mile Marker

Zero Mile Stone is a monument built by the British during the Great Trigonometrical Survey of India in 1907 in Nagpur, Maharashtra.The Zero Mile Stone consists of a pillar made up of sandstone and another small stone representing the GTS Standard Bench Mark, and four stucco horses that were added later. The height of the top of the pillar is 1020.171 feet above mean sea level. In 2008, The Times of India undertook to maintain the monument for the next 5 years.
