Cvent stands with you during the Coronavirus outbreak. A letter from CEO & Founder Reggie Aggarwal
Located in the heart of the thriving Dulles Corridor business district, Reston is a 10-mile drive from Tysons Corner and the Capital Beltway to the east and Washington Dulles International Airport to the west. A community that considers quality of life paramount, Reston has 55 miles of paved pathways winding through woodlands, around lakes, and into integrated residential areas with retail and dining outlets in village center environments. Along with a handful of these village centers, including North Point, Lake Anne, South Lakes, Tall Oaks and Hunters Woods, there is the ever-popular and cutting-edge Reston Town Center, home to many restaurants and shops and such Reston event venues as an outdoor amphitheater that converts to an ice skating rink in the winter.
Reston is seven miles from Washington Dulles International Airport, which serves 22.6 million passengers annually on 33 airlines, with a plethora of non-stop flights to cities around the world. In March 2014, The Metro arrived in Reston, making travel to Washington, DC much more convenient.
Meeting venues in Reston generally comprise three large hotels, which together offer 800 rooms. The 518-room Hyatt Regency Reston has 32,000 square feet of meeting space, with the ability to host up to 1,000 participants. There is also the Terrace and Pavilion for seasonal outdoor use. The 301-room Sheraton Reston Hotel offers 21,727 square feet of function space in 16 rooms around a garden courtyard. The 191-room Westin Reston Heights is designed for smaller intimate gatherings and private board meetings, the largest of its four function rooms totaling 326 square feet.
A number of Reston venues are located in Reston Town Center and Lake Anne Plaza and cater to special events. There are several other options for off-site parties: Groups can rent space in the Reston Historic Trust Storefront Museum and Shop, in the Lake Anne Village Historic District, or the Reston Zoo, a 30-acre family-friendly facility with room for casual special events that can include animal encounters. In addition, groups can use the LEED certified headquarters of the Reston Resort Association and the Reston Community Center, which can accommodate up to 250 theater-style in its community room, up to 100 for a reception in Jo Ann Rose Gallery, and from 25 to 100 in its multi-purpose meeting rooms.
Reston offers meeting delegates a wealth of dining possibilities. Right in the Westin Reston Heights hotel is the Vinifera Wine Bar & Bistro, with a diverse American menu served in a contemporary casual setting. Another popular restaurant, Cafesano, serves fresh Mediterranean cuisine in an upscale cafe environment on Lake Thoreau in the South Lakes Village Center. The menu features freshly made Pizza, Mezza, Panini, Wraps, Salads and Kabobs. Jackson's Mighty Fine Food is known by locals for its juicy, perfectly executed cheeseburger, but also for more upscale fare like lobster bisque and grilled Brussels sprouts. Delegates can also check out The Melting Pot, for a leisurely evening of interesting fondue, including spinach artichoke and Wisconsin Trio Cheese, and the Rio Grande Cafe, popular for its festive atmosphere, tasty fajitas and amazing margaritas.
