TriBeCa, NY Meeting Planning Overview

Meeting planners will find that the tony meeting venues in TriBeCa-short for the Triangle Below Canal-—will give a warm welcome to their groups. The area has experienced an increase in places to stay with the Duane Street Hotel, The Greenwich Hotel and The Smyth opening their doors in recent years. After strolling the cobblestone streets and exploring the striking architecture, foodies can make reservations at any of the local dining destinations, including Locanda Verde, Nobu and The Palm New York.

Bordered by Canal and Chambers Street from the North to South and Broadway and West Street east to west, TriBeCa is a relatively short driving distance from three major airports: LaGuardia Airport (8 miles), Newark Liberty International Airport (9 miles) and John F. Kennedy International Airport (13 miles). Travel to and from this part of the city is convenient with taxis and MTA subway stations and bus stops in close proximity.

A few miles away are the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Piers 92/94, the largest meeting venues in New York City. However, TriBeCa venues also have a fair share of function space, including the 92Y TriBeCa, featuring seven different options ranging from a 273-square-foot seminar space to a 510-square-foot screening room and a 2,150-square-foot music/event space. Boasting over 50,000 square feet of flexible event space for parties of 50 to 1,700, the TriBeCa Rooftop, housed in a vintage press building, offers panoramic views of the New York skyline and Hudson River. Just a few blocks away, on the outskirts of TriBeCa, City Winery has five different spaces for private events, including a wine cellar dining room for up to 24 guests, a winery for groups of 45 to 90 depending on the function, a 50-seat VIP lounge and a sectioned stage and semi-private side bar.

When it comes to dining venues in TriBeCa — short for the Triangle Below Canal — will give a warm welcome to their groups. Neighborhood staple Nobu thrives as one of the most celebrated Japanese restaurants in the world with its modern twist on the Asian cuisine. Thalassa Restaurant has three spaces for private parties, including the main dining room for up to 180 for a cocktail reception, a wine cellar which can fit 60 for a banquet and 120 guests for a cocktail reception, and a gallery loft which can accommodate up to 200 guests.

Attendees with some time can spend it discovering the fashionable shops, unwinding outside at Hudson River Park or enjoying a cocktail at the Church Lounge inside the TriBeCa Grand Hotel.
