2021 Parkinson's Foundation People with Parkinson's Council Application

The Parkinson’s Foundation People with Parkinson’s Council is accepting applications from people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) and care partners for people with PD to fill five open councilmember positions. The Council is instrumental in advising and collaborating with the Foundation. Councilmembers ensure that the perspective of people living with Parkinson’s is integrated into the Foundation’s program development and priority setting. Selected applicants will serve for a three-year term from 2021 - 2024.

The application has 20 questions including three open-ended questions listed below, and will take approximately 45 minutes to complete. Please save your work often to avoid your internet browser timing out and losing your responses. The deadline for applying is Friday, February 26, 2021. We will be in touch by the end of April with your application’s status.

Open-ended Questions (Max. 1,500 characters each):

  • Please provide a personal statement describing your goals and interests as well as why you wish to serve on the Parkinson's Foundation People with Parkinson's Council.
  • Describe your professional and volunteer experience as well as any personal skills or abilities you would bring to the People with Parkinson's Council.
  • Our mission is to make life better for people with Parkinson's by improving care and advancing research toward a cure. Describe a challenge or unmet need you've observed within your local Parkinson's community and how you see the Foundation addressing this issue.

Thank you for your interest! If you have any questions about the application process, please reach out to Celeste Tennant at ctennant@parkinson.org.
