About us
Symposium Ale & Wine Bar is housed in a Victorian building which was formerly a General Grocers and Wine Merchants, ‘Symposium' was for many years a well known wine bar/restaurant in Idle village. The Symposium premises were acquired by Market Town Taverns in early 2001 and Symposium Ale & Wine Bar opened in its present format in the spring of that year. Symposium is very much at the heart of the local community, used as a meeting place for many local groups and organizations. The "Snug" to the rear of the bar area at Symposium is ideal for small business meetings or small family functions.
