The Slave Lodge is one of the oldest buildings in Cape Town. The many names of the building over three centuries – Slave Lodge, Government Offices Building, Old Supreme Court, and SA Cultural History Museum – reflect the long and rich history of the building. The upper galleries of the Iziko Slave Lodge are open to the public. There is a beautiful historic courtyard with a well, offering a shaded cocktail venue in good weather. The atmospheric Lecture Hall is well suited to luncheon meetings, cocktail parties and conferences.
