About us

Welcome to The Joule, where design creates the vibe, style meets luxury, and elegance transforms into excellence. Located in the heart of downtown—adjacent to the original Neiman Marcus and within walking distance of the internationally acclaimed Dallas Arts District—The Joule Hotel is aptly named for the international unit of energy and occupies a revitalized 1920s landmark building. The Joule boasts 160 guest rooms, including 27 suites and four penthouses up to 2,500 square feet. In 2025, the West Tower guestrooms were reimagined by award-winning Tihany Design with lighter, brighter interiors, modern furnishings, and a refined palette of creams, blues, and greens. Custom European walnut paneling, velvet and leather furnishings, geometric carpets, and bespoke furniture create a residential, artful environment, complemented by black-and-white photographic diptychs by Bram Tihany. These renovations follow enhancements to the ballroom level in 2023 and The Spa, refreshed by Tihany Design in 2024 with a new express facial bar, updated lobby, and expanded retail space, underscoring the hotel’s commitment to evolving luxury and guest experience. Guests now enjoy Byredo bath products in Gypsy Water and in-room wellness experiences, with indulgences like a 111SKIN Eye Mask available through the concierge. Tihany Design’s reimagining of The Joule’s second-floor ballroom level in late 2023 included all 10,200-square-feet of event space featuring three ballrooms—the Mosaic, Fortnight, and Praetorian—three meeting rooms, and a pre-function area, ideal for corporate events, weddings, and galas. Corridors offer floor-to-ceiling views of downtown and were upgraded with iridescent wallcoverings and handmade cork wallpaper, while the ballrooms are adorned with luminous fabric, custom-designed chandeliers, and furnishings. With more than 30,000 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor event space—including a rooftop terrace and penthouse suites—The Joule offers full-service event planning, personalized menus, and technical integration with A/V systems, projectors, and onsite IT support, creating a premier destination for both leisure and corporate gatherings. In August 2024, The Spa at The Joule unveiled a refresh that includes a new Express Facial Bar, expanded retail space and E-commerce platform for online purchases. Also designed by Adam D. Tihany, the 11,000 square-foot sanctuary showcases a modern spa that is holistically focused on performance results and spiritual relaxation. Enhancements include a revitalized reception area, an upgraded facial bar with advanced skincare technologies, and a larger selection of high-performance products such as Biologique Recherche, Environ, Oribe, Candela, and more. Guests can enjoy the expanded facilities, which include a co-ed heated vitality pool, eucalyptus dry sauna, and crystal steam room, as well as personalized treatments that blend European heat therapies with cutting-edge skincare. In addition to retail and treatments, The Spa offers a variety of wellness-inspired seasonal activations, including Sound Bath Meditation and educational masterclasses.
