Six Senses Zighy Bay is located on the northern Musandam Peninsula in the Sultanate of Oman. The setting of the indigenous village style accommodations and private marina is dramatic, with mountains on one side and a 1.6-kilometer sandy beach at Zighy Bay, on the other. Zighy Bay is located 120 kilometres, or 90-minutes drive from Dubai International Airport, which is the gateway city to Six Senses Zighy Bay. Guests have a choice of arrival experiences which include a scenic fifteen-minute speed boat trip or a drive down from the top of the hill overlooking the bay. For an additional charge, guests can choose to be a companion passenger with the resort's professional paraglider!

Additional Information

Awarded as: World's Leading New Resort 2009 Being the first Six Senses to open in the Middle East, the resort is indeed a true “Hideaway”. Located on the Musandam Peninsula in the very North of Oman, the Six Senses Zighy Bay is beautifully set in one of the secluded bays between the crystal clear Gulf of Oman and the Hajar Mountains that make up this unique peninsula, often referred to as the “Norway of the Middle East” due to its fjord-like shapes. The Musandam Peninsula is of great interest to geologists because of its unique exposure of fossils. The mountains are made up of old coral and sediments that made up the seabed of what used to be a sea. An important part of our environmental efforts is to create environmental awareness among our hosts, guests and local community. Our hosts undergo the Six Senses mandatory environmental awareness training, the Green Module, as well as several training sessions particularly adapted to Six Senses Zighy Bay. Such trainings include waste separation, energy and water conservation, local flora and fauna. Environmental information is also displayed on the notice boards and is filed and kept available for all hosts to read. In our villas, we have placed the “Little Green Book”, a compendium that guides our guests through our environmental efforts and invites them to help us wherever possible.
