And while, by the last count, the pip has only 113 faces, it remains one of the Neues Grünes Gewölbe’s most fascinating attractions. When describing the holdings of the Neues Grünes Gewölbe, one superlative follows the next: The largest green diamond ever found is exhibited here

Entering the Historisches Grünes Gewölbe through the museum’s state-of-the-art airlock, which protects the 3000 free-standing objects and allows for consistent climate control, visitors embark on a visual journey to the Baroque period. As early as 1724, the rooms of the Grünes Gewölbe were open to an exclusive public and people – “wearing clean clothes”, as the king desired – were admitted in small groups only, as they are today.

Tradition and continuous restoration are always part of the programme for the Saxony state opera, and the opera continues the traditions of great Italian opera as well. After its destruction, the opera house was elaborately reconstructed and reopened in 1985, complete with its famous foyer and the original frontage. Today, the opera offers a setting for all of Germany and unique flair.

Covert Cocktail Club
Covert Cocktail Club

Once upon a time in 2016, Matt Levy, founder of Covert Cocktail Club, hosted a secret speakeasy as an intimate place for strangers to gather in his home. The only way to find out about it was via word of mouth. No address was given, the only clue being a sign placed in the window, “Cocktails Here”. A lot of people thought it was pretty cool, even before The New York Times wrote about it. But that was all pre-pandemic, and this is a new era. Liberated from the confines of a single location, Covert Cocktail Club now brings the speakeasy right to your door—be it at your home, office, bar mitzvah, dinner party, bachelor/ette party or anywhere you choose!
