More

One of Edinburgh’s oldest and most iconic hotels, The Principal Edinburgh, has been refurbished from head to toe, courtesy of a multimillion-pound investment by owners Starwood Capital Group. Following the opening of brand new restaurant The Printing Press Bar & Kitchen and coffee shop, Burr & Co., last October the main hotel has also undergone its own transformation. As well as the lobby and library, the stunning King’s Hall – which plays host to major functions and many city centre weddings – has been fully refurbished to showcase just many of its original period features. Guests staying at the hotel will also enjoy improvements, with the makeover extended to all 240 bedrooms. A total of 10 luxurious suites have also been created, including the signature George Suite, which welcomed George Clooney as one of its first guests as part of the hotel’s support for social enterprise charity, Social Bite. The interiors, by award-winning architects Goddard Littlefair, reference both the architectural heritage of the hotel and the soft highland hues that are typical of Scotland’s landscapes. The colour palette is complimented with a rich choice of materials – including oak, brass, leather, velvet and marble – to create some of the finest accommodation Edinburgh has to offer. Ideally located within easy reach of Edinburgh International Airport, The Principal Hotel has Edinburgh's business district and cultural attractions nearby, not to mention being on the doorstep to Edinburgh's main shopping district. An elegant Grade II listed building; the George Hotel has eight individual conference and event suites, with the sumptuous Kings Hall seating 260 for a gala dinner. No other hotel room in Edinburgh caters for the sophisticated, stylish, guest like one of our luxury bedrooms. And there is no finer place to rest after a long day sightseeing in the city. Step into the hotel and you are transported into a spectacular environment that combines stylish architecture, cutting edge technology, a dedicated support team and world class refreshments to inspire your delegates and improve learning. We have all the facilities you need for hosting a successful conference, meeting, training session or special event in Edinburgh.
