About us

The Statler is an iconic hotel of mid-twentieth century design located in Downtown Dallas, less than a mile from the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. When it originally opened in 1956, the property was the first major hotel built in Dallas in nearly three decades and the largest convention facility in the Southwestern United States. Quickly, The Statler became a destination for the elite and attracted many big acts and celebrities such as Frank Sinatra, The Jackson 5 and Tony Bennett, conventions, galas and was famous for its exterior car lift that was used for car shows and other trade shows requiring large items for display. It was also famed for the being the place where Tina Turner left her husband Ike. The Statler's retro-forward style symbolizes an homage to past glory while boldly directing the future of Dallas urban life.
