Additional Information
(1) Fuzhou History and Feature Spot With over 2,200 years of history, Fuzhou attracts both domestic and international visitors with its rich cultural heritage and traditional crafts as well as its unique local cuisines. Major attractions include the famous historical street of ten ancient lanes called Three Lanes and Seven Alleys, Drum Mountain and Xichan Temple. Fuzhou is the capital of Fujian, and makes an ideal base for exploring other areas of the province, including Xiamen, Wuyi Mountain and the famous UNESCO World Heritage-listed Fujian Tulou earthen houses, dating back to the 17th century. (2) Hotel Design Concept The design of the hotel, by the renowned architects PLD Consultants Hong Kong, brings to life the overall aesthetic concept of "Blowing Wind and Flowing Water", which pays homage to Fuzhou's origins as the starting point of the ancient Maritime Silk Road. The region's historical and cultural influences are seen in the design elements, including its indigenous lacquer art, oil paper umbrellas and tea traditions. In the hotel lobby, 16 stunning lacquer screens soar sail-like into the high ceiling. In the courtyard garden, a futuristic "Star of The Ocean" wedding chapel is set in the middle of a reflecting pool. The design narrative continues throughout all the areas in the hotel, with elements in the dining outlets, guest rooms and other spaces symbolizing the natural forces of wind and water.
