Due to the Cayman Islands tropical climate and year round warm water temperatures, the ocean floor is richly covered with an abundance of corals and sponges that provide food and shelter to a huge diversity of marine life. The famous Cayman Wall runs around the entire island, with dive sites on all four sides. While there is plenty for novice divers to see on the sandy flats on top of the wall, those who descend deeper will be privy to some truly breathtaking scenery. Among the mélange of black coral, giant purple sea fans and barrel sponges, you are bound to spot parrot fish, barracuda, eagle rays, turtles and even the odd Hammerhead.

Stingray City

15 minutes away
Visit world famous Stingray City sandbar located in the North Sound. In only three feet of clear water, visitors can swim with and feed Cayman’s most famous residents: the wild Southern Stingrays. These calm, harmless creatures naturally congregate at the sandbar. There are many transportation options available- from catamarans, speedboats, pontoon boats and other smaller sailing vessels. Choose from a simple two-hour snorkel trip, or enjoy a full day outing. Stingray City is a wonderful way for your family to experience Cayman.

Kittiwake Snorkel

5 minutes away
Begin this sail aboard a privately chartered catamaran leaving from the beach at The Ritz-Carlton. The first stop is the sunken US Naval ship the USS Kittiwake. Observe this attraction from the surface, dive down and snorkel as close as 10 feet from the 250 foot long sunken vessel. The next stop will take you to one of Seven Mile Beach’s many spectacular coral reefs where you will encounter an amazing array of tropical fish and lush coral. After the water activities enjoy a gentle sail with a cocktail of your choice as you soak up the sun for a leisurely cruise back to the beach.
